On May 8, 2018, Leon Taylor, age 33, of Port Sulphur, LA, plead guilty to the crime of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine). Under Article 893, sentencing was deferred by Judge Kevin D. Conner – With Conditions to Enroll and Complete the 25th JDC Drug Court Program, followed by 7 years of active probation. If Taylor does not complete the Drug Court Program, he will be sentenced to a term in prison not to exceed 10 years at hard labor, and the State reserves the right to charge him as a multiple offender.
