





On May 4th and May 19th, 2018, sixth grade students from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Phoenix Middle School, South Plaquemines Middle School and Boothville Middle School participated in the mock trial program as part of Project L.E.A.D. “Legal Enrichment And Decision-Making”, a program of the Plaquemines Parish District Attorney’s Office, is designed to help students recognize and analyze the potential consequences of the difficult decisions they face during adolescence and beyond. This is the 18th consecutive year the District Attorney’s Office has provided the program to Plaquemines Parish students. Presiding were Judge Kevin Conner, Judge Joy Lobrano and in attendance were District Attorney Charles Ballay, Assistant District Attorneys Mary Touzet, Edward McGowan, Jerry Lobrano, Sarah Tesvich and educators Erica Silverman, Keokuk Chisholm, Lee Blakney, Nita Ragas, Danielle Lewis, and Erica Silvernale.
